Naomi Meckley Obituary

 

 

Naomi Meckley, 88, of Natrona Heights passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021 in the Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, with her family by her side.

 

She was born January 29, 1933 in Monroe Twp., Clarion County to the late Barrett and Rose (Henry) Pugh, and has lived in Natrona Heights area since 1969.

 

Naomi graduated from Tarentum High School in 1950. She worked as a library clerk for South Butler School District for 25 years prior to her retirement.

 

Mrs. Meckley was a faithful member of the Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church, Fawn Twp. For many years. In addition, she was well known as quite a crafter, as her hobbies included flower arranging, making porcelain dolls, but her true avocation was quilting. She had a strong faith and a large heart, especially for missionary work. She also had a passion for reading, and her favorites were Amish stories and Christmas stories.

 

Naomi leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Daniel R. (Lee Ann) Meckley of Rural Hall, NC, her daughters, Orlanda (Fred) Hahn of Fawn Twp., Lori (Maurice) Forrester of Syracuse, NY, Melissa (Tim) Bureau of Ford City, her six grandchildren, Corey Wilcut, Crystal Zier, Matthew Meckley, Edward Flanders, John and Tom Forrester, her eight great-grandchildren and her sister, Joanna Meckley of Spring Valley, Calif. and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above, her husband Leroy O. Meckley who passed away on December 25, 2003 , and her two brothers, George and James Pugh.

 

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 27th from 2 -4 pm and 6 – 8 pm and on Wednesday, July 28th from 10 am until the time of the funeral ceremonies at 11 am in the Krynicki Funeral Home, Inc., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Co-officiating will be th Reverend John Gehring-Anders and the Reverend David Wood. Committal services and burial will follow at graveside in the Pleasant Unity Cemetery, Fawn Twp.

 

The family respectfully requests memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant Unity United Presbyterian Church, 101 Millerstown-Culmerville Road, Tarentum, Pa 15084 or the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches, 1913 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Pa 15065.
