Martha G. (McFarland) Holsing, 86, of Cheswick, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, in Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot, after a brief illness. She was the widow of William J. Holsing, who died in 2014. She was born May 9, 1932, in Fawn Township, the daughter of the late Robert G. and Frances Hughes McFarland, and she lived in the area all of her life. She billed insurance for Allegheny Valley Hospital and was retired. She was a member of Bull Creek Presbyterian Church, and was very active in the church, serving as a deacon. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Richard Holsing (Susan), of Tarentum, and Jeffrey Holsing (Donna), of Harrison Township; two daughters, Deborah Prager (Thomas), of Kittanning, and Marcia Reiber (Karl), of Carthage, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Staci, Brenda, Kara, Scott, Allison, Sara and Anna; seven great-grandchildren, Marissa, Bryan, Caleb, Logan, Alex, Aby, and Renee; and two sisters, Frances Duke, of Marion, N.Y., and Gladys Johnson, of Freeport. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother, Robert McFarland. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, in the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, in Bull Creek Presbyterian Church, 224 Tarentum Culmerville Road, West Deer Township, with Dr. Rev. Brenda Barnes officiating.
