Lessie P. Stroud, 98, of Natrona Heights, went to be with the house of the Lord Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at home, after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of William Stroud Sr. She was born Oct. 31, 1919, in Hampton, Ga., but lived in this area all of her life. She graduated from Franklin Nursing School, Pittsburgh. She was a nurse for Fairwinds Personal Care, Sarver, for more than 30 years, retiring in 1990. She was the daughter of the late Robert L. Lucas and Mattie Elard. She was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Tarentum. She was a member of Chapter 29 Eastern Star New Kensington, and various nursing associations. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining for her family. She took care of her family. In her earlier years, she was an avid traveler with her husband, vacationing at Millionaires Row in New Jersey. Survivors include a granddaughter, Zepher Stroud Peterson, at home; four grandsons, Clifford Lee Stroud, of Mobile, Ala., Gary Stroud, of Milwaukee, Wis., Michael Van Stroud, of Tarentum, and Clifford M. Stroud Jr., of Tarentum; five great-grandsons, William Lee Stroud Peterson, Clifford Stroud III, Tim Stroud, Chandler Stroud and Preston Stroud; two great-great-grandchildren; and is loved by a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert L. and Mattie Elard Lucas; husband, William Stroud Sr.; two sons, William Stroud Jr. and Clifford Stroud Sr. one daughter Constance Marie Stroud; five brothers and one sister. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to time of service at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, in the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Melva Hartzog, her pastor, assisted by the Rev. Edward Carter and the Rev. Chester Howell. Burial will be in Mt.
