Donald E. Carnathan, 74, of Fawn Township, passed away Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, at Passavant Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a few months of illness. He was born March 14, 1946, in Fawn Township, and lived in the vicinity all of his life. He served in the Army from 1965 to 1971, and was an electrician for Allegheny Ludlum Steel for 38 years, retiring in 2003. He was the son of the late Stella E. Jones and Walter Carnathan. He was an active member of Bairdford United Methodist Church, Bairdford and sang in the choir. He enjoyed golf and loved sports, the Steelers and the Pirates, and playing cards. He loved music, and especially the oldies. He is survived by wife, Beverly Carnathan, of Fawn Township; daughter, Jennifer Singleton (Steve), of Cranberry Township; son, Michael Chad Carnathan, of Lower Burrell; granddaughter, Allison Grace; and brother, Theodore Carnathan (Maxine), of Brackenridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Walter Carnathan; sister, Frieda Atkinson; and infant sister, Patricia. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, in the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at Bairdford United Methodist Church, Bairdford, with the Rev. Jerold Pawloski, his pastor, officiating.
