John H. Prager Cabot, formerly of Tarentum John H. Prager, 90, of Cabot, formerly of Tarentum, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison Township. Born Oct. 15, 1926, in Harrison Township, he was the son of the late John G. and Elizabeth Huston Prager. John served in the Army from 1946 to 1947. He was a retired conductor on railroad, transportation and yard for Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp. of Brackenridge and owner of Prager's Penny Candy Store and Prager's Flower Shop of Tarentum. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Tarentum, and enjoyed working in his home, walking his dog and model trains. He was a member of Pollock Lodge 502 Free and Accepted Masons, past elder of Highview Presbyterian Church and deacon of First United Presbyterian Church of Tarentum. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude (Blaser) Prager, who died Jan. 25, 2000; a son, John L. Prager; sister, Alma Prager; and two brothers, Howard and Harry Prager. He is survived by his son, Thomas Prager (Debbie), of Kittanning; three grandchildren, Staci Cypher, Brenda Colwell (Jamison) and John C. Prager; and four great-grandchildren, Alexander, Abygail, Marissa and Bryan. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, at KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. Pollock Lodge 502 will conduct a service 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb., 23, 2017, at the funeral home with John's pastor, the Rev. Philip Beck, officiating, with military honors to follow. Interment will be at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Township.
