Jean Miller Obituary


Jean E. Miller, 99, formerly of Natrona Heights (Harrison Twp), died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Brookdale Midlothian Assisted Living, Midlothian, Va. She was the widow of Dr. Stephen J. C. Miller, who died in 2002. She was born Aug. 27, 1918, in London, Ontario, Canada. She lived in the area since 1948 before moving to Virginia in 2010. She was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Stanfield and Mabel Dalgliesh. She was a member of Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed reading and playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, David Miller, of Midlothian, Va., Thomas Miller, of Greensburg, and Dr. James R. Miller (Susan), of Suffolk, Va.; two daughters, Patricia Bracken (James), of Freeport, and Katherine Gabin (Jerry Buterbaugh), of Midlothian, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Mabel Dalgliesh Stanfield; husband, Dr. Stephen J.C. Miller; four sisters, Ruth S. Grom and Margaret Burr; and infant sisters, Erna and Dorothy. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, in the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church, 1428 Broadview Blvd., Natrona Heights, PA 15065, with the Rev. R. Cameron Malcolm officiating. Interment will be at Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. Arrangements are under the direction of KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights.
