Gloria Szymkewicz

Gloria Szymkewicz, 89, of Sarver, formerly of Tarentum, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017. She was the wife of Richard Szymkewicz, who she married in 1948. She was born March 26, 1928, in Creighton, the daughter of the late Costante Fornari and the late Enes Aldejari. She worked as an interviewer for the Unemployment Office of Jobs Services of New Kensington for 16 years, and retired in 1990. She attended Holy Martyr's Roman Catholic Church, Tarentum. Gloria enjoyed traveling, reading, walking and spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the casino in Pittsburgh. Gloria is survived by two sons, Richard  Sims (Debra), of Louisburg, N.C., and Mathew Sims (Cheryl), of Raleigh, N.C.; three daughters, Paula Ann Keryeski (Michael), of Lower Burrell, Claudia Price (Michael), of Natick, Mass., and Vanessa Luchok (Paul), of Napierville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a sister, Esther McMurdo, of New Kensington. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ernestina Squitieri. The family requests no public visitation and all services will be private. The funeral service is under the direction of the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, PA 15065.
