Calvin C. Thompson Jr., 68, of Sarver, died Monday, July 30, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Concordia Lutheran Ministries, after an illness of two months. He was the husband of 47 years to Nancy (Mogle) Thompson. He was born March 19, 1950, in Harrison Township, and lived in this area all of his life. He was a mold maker for Glenshaw Glass for 30 years, retiring in 2006. He was the son of the late Calvin C. Thompson Sr. and Rosella G. Bash. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Nancy (Mogle) Thompson, of Buffalo Township; son, Joseph Thompson (Dawn), of East Vandergrift; and three grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jamie Thompson, in 2012 and a sister Carol Mogle. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2018, in the KRYNICKI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights. A service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Kuert Sr. Burial will be at Mt. Airy Cemetery, Harrison Township.
