Betty M. Carlson

Enter obituary information here. Betty M. Carlson, 90, formerly of Harrison Township, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in Fairfax Va. Betty was born in Tarentum, Aug 27, 1925 to Walter and Lillie (Lavick) Murphy. She graduated Salutatorian form Tarentum High School in 1943 and went to work for the ALCOA research lab in New Kensington. She left ALCOA to start a family with her husband, Richard (Dick) F. Carlson. They moved to Natrona Heights in1956 where they were members of the Natrona Heights Presbyterian Church and Brackenridge Heights Country Club. Betty was also active in the Civic Club and the Women's Circle. She loved to play bridge with friends and do crossword puzzles in her spare time. Following the death of her husband, Dick, in 2006, Betty located to Virginia to be near family. She was very much loved and will be dearly missed. Betty is survived by her daughter, Nancy of South Riding, Va., her son, Richard (Agnes) Carlson of Houston, Tx. and three grandchildren; Alison Natali, Shane Carlson and Liane Carlson. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Dorothy Hazlett and Irene Pavlakovic. The family will receive friends in the Krynicki Funeral Home,Inc. 1007 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Pa 15065 on Monday, April 25th from 6 PM to 8 PM. Funeral Services will be held in the Krynicki Funeral Home, Inc on Tuesday, April 26th at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers , please send memorial donations to either the Natrona Heights, Presbyterian Church at 1428 Broadview Blvd, Natrona Heights, Pa 15065 or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
